All of the properties managed by Village Gate Homes are built on principles of sustainability, providing social, environmental and financial support to the university’s academic mission.
As part of a complete community where residents can live, work, play and study, Village Gate Homes at UBC provides residents with the unique opportunity to access athletic, artistic, social and cultural activities only UBC campus can offer. This on-campus residential life assists UBC in being a vibrant, fully integrated community day and night.
Our homes have been designed and constructed adhering to the UBC specific green building rating system – Residential Environmental Assessment Program (REAP). REAP provides a sustainability framework to ensure all UBC residential development responsibly addresses water conservation, energy-use reduction and reduce environmental impact on both the building site and the larger community.
Profits generated through Village Gate Homes’ buildings benefit UBC Endowment funds that generate support for a wide range of programs and activities such as scholarships and bursaries across the University in perpetuity and to future UBC’s vision to create a leasing environment that fosters positive global citizenship. By choosing to live on campus you are furthering the sustainability of the University’s academic mission.
